Getting a quote is simple and transparent. You can either fill out our Estimate Request Form or give us a call directly at 613-722-3375. Will or Jimmy will schedule a time to visit your property, discuss your vision, and assess the surfaces. Afterward, you will receive a detailed, written proposal that outlines the full scope of work and the total investment with no hidden fees or surprises.
-
Once you approve the proposal, we provide scheduling guidance to give you an idea of when your project will begin. As we get closer to your project window, we will reach out to confirm your exact start date and our arrival time. On day one, our team arrives to set up a clean workspace and review the plan with you. While our painters work directly with you on-site to handle any day-to-day questions, Jimmy and Will remain available throughout the project to ensure everything is running smoothly. Once the work is complete, we perform a final walkthrough to ensure every detail meets our standards and your total satisfaction.
-
We aim to make the process as easy as possible for you. We ask that you remove small breakables, pictures, and window treatments from the work area. If you would like your wall hangings to go back in the exact same spots, please leave the hooks in the wall. If you prefer to reset your décor, remove the hooks and we will patch those holes for a fresh start. Regarding furniture, we work with you on a case by case basis to ensure your space is ready. We generally ask that you clear off shelving and move smaller items, but we can coordinate with you on the best plan for larger pieces during our initial walkthrough.
-
Your satisfaction is our priority. At the end of every project, we perform a thorough final walkthrough with you to identify and address any immediate touch-ups before we pack up our gear. However, we understand that sometimes things are only visible once the furniture is back and the lighting changes. If you notice a missed spot or a minor issue after we have left, simply give us a call. As part of our commitment to quality, we provide a two-year warranty on our workmanship and will gladly return to make it right at no additional cost to you.
-
We do not require a deposit or any upfront payment. We only issue an invoice once the project is finished and you are completely happy with the results. You will receive your invoice within a week of the job being completed, and we offer Net 30 terms for payment. We accept payments via e-transfer or cheque, and all the necessary payment details will be clearly listed on your invoice for your convenience.

Weather is the biggest variable in Ottawa, and we monitor it closely. We only paint when surfaces are dry and the forecast allows for proper curing. If rain interrupts our schedule, we will provide you with a revised timeline as soon as conditions clear. Our priority is a long-lasting finish, which means we never rush a job if the weather isn't optimal.

Choosing the right color can be the most stressful part of the process. While we don't provide full interior design services, we are happy to share our professional insights based on current trends and what we have seen work best in similar Ottawa homes.
-
Yes. We primarily use low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) or zero-VOC paints from premium brands like Dulux and Benjamin Moore. These products are much safer for your family and pets, as they significantly reduce the "new paint smell" and minimize air quality impact, allowing you to enjoy your freshly painted space sooner.
-
We are happy to work with paint you have already purchased, and there is no pressure to use our suppliers. However, we always recommend using high-quality paint to ensure the best possible finish and durability for your home. We primarily use premium product lines from Dulux and Benjamin Moore because we have seen how well they perform in Ottawa's climate over the long term. If you choose to have us supply the material, you benefit from our contractor pricing and our professional recommendation on which specific product is best suited for your project.

What should I look for when hiring a professional painter?
When evaluating professional painting contractors, ensure they meet seven critical benchmarks across insurance, process, and legal terms:
1. Licensing & Full Insurance Coverage: Verify valid local business registration alongside active Commercial General Liability insurance and workers' compensation (such as WSIB in Ontario) to eliminate homeowner liability for accidents or damage.
2. Verified Portfolio & Direct References: Review recent project photos (focusing on edge lines and finish consistency) and contact at least two past clients to confirm reliability, clean work habits, and timeline adherence.
3. Itemized Scope of Work & Written Estimate: Require a detailed written proposal specifying surface preparation, number of coats, exact paint manufacturer/grade (e.g., Dulux Lifemaster, Benjamin Moore Regal Select), job timeline, and clean-up duties.
4. Rigorous Surface Preparation Protocol: Confirm the painter includes comprehensive prep steps. These steps can include power washing, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming. Surface prep accounts for 80% of coating longevity.
5. Written Workmanship Warranty: Secure a written guarantee covering paint peeling, blistering, or flaking for a defined period (typically 1 to 2 years), including a clear punch-list resolution process.
6. Designated Crew & Communication: Clarify whether work is executed by direct employees or subcontractors, establish start/finish dates, and designate a single project manager for daily updates.
7. Fair Payment Schedule & Formal Contract: Require a signed contract with clear milestone-based payments. Avoid paying any deposits upfront, and reserve final payment until a joint final walk-through inspection is completed.
How do I find a reputable painting company in Ottawa?
To hire a qualified, low-risk professional painter in the National Capital Region, verify these five essential criteria before signing a contract:
1. Active Insurance & WSIB Clearance: Request proof of Commercial General Liability (minimum $2M) and a valid WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) Clearance Certificate to protect against property damage and worker injury liability. Obtain the insurer's policy number and provider name directly.
2. Detailed, Written Scope of Work: Obtain at least 3 detailed written quotes outlining specific prep protocols, paint brands/grades (e.g., Dulux, Benjamin Moore), target timelines, and a transparent payment schedule (avoid any upfront deposit payments).
3. Local Ottawa References & Portfolio: Review recent local project galleries and request direct contact details for at least two recent clients in Ottawa or the surrounding area (e.g., Nepean, Kanata, Orleans).
4. Written Contract & Workmanship Warranty: Ensure the contract explicitly details a multi-year warranty on workmanship (peeling, blistering) and manufacturer paint guarantees.
5. Verified Credentials & Site Policies: Confirm business registration (Ontario Business Name/CRA status), professional affiliations, and explicit daily cleanup and waste disposal procedures.
Why hire a professional painter over DIY?
Hiring a professional painting contractor provides higher long-term value than DIY through these primary factors:
Superior Finish Quality: Experienced application techniques eliminate brush marks, streaks, and uneven coverage.
Thorough Surface Prep: Professional cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming ensure maximum paint adhesion and longevity.
Expert Product Selection: Pros select exact paint formulas (elastomeric, acrylic latex, high-moisture resistance) tailored to specific substrate conditions.
Risk & Liability Mitigation: Licensed contractors carry full liability insurance and follow safe ladder/scaffolding protocols.
Warranty Protection: Professional work includes workmanship and material guarantees that DIY projects lack.
